I am an attorney and also a patent, design, trademark and copyright practitioner accredited by the Vietnam Intellectual Property Office (IPVN) and the Copyright Office of Vietnam (COV) with 20 years+ of experience currently practicing in Vietnam for Bross & Partners (www.bross.vn).

As one of the founding partners leading the intellectual property practice of the firm since 2008, I have been advising and representing both foreign and Vietnamese enterprises, ie. from multinational corporations ranked by Forbes and VNR500 and to small and medium-sized companies operating in different industries sectors from pharmaceutical, fast food, beverage including milk, fashion, electric goods to fertilizer, seafood, coffee, construction materials, banking and auditing.

Individually listed in the IAM Patent1000, WTR1000 and honored as the Asialaw Profile’s leading lawyers for four consecutive years (2014-2017) amid Bross & Partners is constantly ranked and recommended by the Managing Intellectual Property (IPSTARS), WTR1000, Benchmark Litigation, AsiaLaw Profiles,  AsiaIP, Legal500 AsiaPacific and Asian Legal Business.

My expertise and experience is involved with various high-profile cases, including criminal case recently adjudicated in January 2020 relating to counterfeit trademark goods in which Vietnam for the first time prosecuted criminal liability for corporation, civil court litigation, border IPR protection, administrative measure against trademark infringement, ongoing defense to copyright infringement accusation claiming a record damage of nearly 2 million USD, and victoriously represented to recover domain name via the UDRP procedure. In addition, I had academic experience in completing the long-awaited Project for well-known trademark protection funded by the MoST and INTA.

PUBLICATIONS 

• A 190-page study report as a result of “Project on Protection of Well-known Trademark under Vietnamese Laws - Situation and Solution" co-authored by attorney Le Quang Vinh (Bross & Partners) and Dr. Phan Ngoc Tam (Ho Chi Minh City’s University of Law) sponsored by the INTA and Ministry of Science and Technology. The project closed by officially announcing on November 17, 2017 in Hanoi and then published into a book by the Technical and Scientific Publishing House in 2017
• Article “The challenges of breaking with the tradition” published on the bi-monthly reputable magazine World Trademark Review, Issue December/January 2014 making comments on the newly emerging issue of protection of non-traditional marks
