Different from ordinary mark and also different from collective mark, certification mark is not and cannot be used by the owner of it but certification mark is still ensured to function distinguishing goods and services under the same kind like the distinctiveness by ordinary trademarks and collective marks
Another key distinguishable feature that is always associated with a certification mark is that the certification mark used by any person or entity other than its owner is to authenticate or certify by the owner of certification trademark that the other person's goods or services have successfully complied with the conditions of origin, raw materials, technical standards, safety or other characteristics specified by the certification mark owner (rightholder).
